Plain English: Chorelie is a chore chart with points in it. Use it with your own family, do not try to break it, and understand that the gems are not money and we are not a bank.
These terms are between you and Small Ponds Software ("we", "us"). By downloading or using Chorelie you agree to them. If you do not agree, please delete the app.
You must be 18 or older, and a parent or guardian, to set up a family in Chorelie. Children use the app under your supervision and on your account of things.
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Chorelie on Apple devices you own or control, for your own household. You may not resell it, rent it, reverse-engineer it, or use it to build a competing product.
We own the app, its artwork, its name and its design. You own everything you put into it.
This is the important one. Gems, points, balances, interest and "cash out" inside Chorelie are a record-keeping tool between you and your child. They have no monetary value, they are not a currency, deposit, security or stored-value product, and they cannot be redeemed from us for anything.
Chorelie is not a bank, a money transmitter or a financial service. It is not connected to any bank account, card or payment network, and it never moves real money. If you choose to hand your child actual cash when they cash out, that is entirely between the two of you, and the "weekly bonus" is a number you set yourself — not interest paid by anybody.
You are responsible for what you put into Chorelie — names, chores, rewards and photos. Only add photos you have the right to use, and please think twice before storing pictures of children anywhere, including here. You keep ownership of your content; we store it only to make the app work, as described in our privacy policy.
Do not use Chorelie to break the law, to try to reach another family's data, to probe or overload our systems, or to interfere with anyone else's use of it. We may suspend access that does any of these things.
Chorelie is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We work hard on it, but we cannot promise it will always be available, always be error-free, or never lose data. Keep that in mind before it becomes the only record of something that matters to your child.
We may change, pause or discontinue features. If we ever shut the service down we will give reasonable notice in the app first.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost data or lost profit, arising out of your use of Chorelie. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the app in the previous twelve months or ten US dollars. Some places do not allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as permitted.
Chorelie is free today. If we later add a paid plan, the price, what it includes and how to cancel will be shown clearly before you buy, all billing is handled by Apple under your App Store account, and refunds are handled by Apple under their policies. Nothing you already have will be taken away from you and put behind a paywall without telling you first.
Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support for Chorelie. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them. Your use of the app must also comply with the App Store Terms of Service.
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change and significant changes will be flagged in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict of law rules.
